Vedvei Charolais Ranch
Al’s interest in Charolais Cattle began when he started working with Wienk Charolais in 1976. In 1978 he married Deb Wienk. They began to build the foundation of what would one day become Vedvei Charolais. They have three daughters, Corrie, Stacie, and Melanie and in 1986 they started their own business, Vedvei Charolais. They have now been raising and selling Purebred Charolais cattle of their own for more than 23 years. In 2002 their oldest daughter Corrie married DJ Holt who is currently working with Vedvei Charolais and they have a daughter Hadlee Ann. Stacie married Mitch Olson in 2006 and they are currently living in Rapid City. Youngest daughter Melanie just recently graduated from college and is working for Daktronics as a manufacturing engineer. Over the years Vedvei Charolais has been extremely fortunate to have had two of the breed’s greatest herd sires, first in Mac 2244 and more recently in VCR Sir Duke 914. Vedvei Charolais has exhibited their cattle at many shows and sales across the nation with one of the highlights having the high selling lot at the 22nd National Charolais Sale in Denver, CO. Our bulls are sold private treaty and at our three state winter sales. Females are also sold private treaty and in Wienk Charolais Better Idea Female Sale which is the last Saturday in September. Our cow herd has grown to over 200 head including both spring and fall calving cows. This allows our customers more selection to fit their individual needs.
